Pictured is the club winner of the Youth Leaderhip Competition, Aidan McGrath from Fingal Community College (Centre) with Rotary President Gerry McInerney, Club Interviewer Willie Maxwell, his teacher Catherine Bourke and Greg Langan who headed up this year's Youth Leadership Programme.


Aidan McGrath from Rivervalley, Swords, a 6th year student at Fingal Community College wins through to the final of the Rotary Youth Leadership Competition.

The Area Final takes place on the 20th November in Dublin when Aidan could be one of twenty four Students,  all under 18years, from the island of Ireland who will visit Strasbourg for a week in February 2010 as part of the Leadership Development Week and Euroscola Day at the European Parliament.

The Euroscola Day is a special day in the European Parliament that sees hundreds of young people coming together acting as MEP’s for the day.

The competition is focused on the leadership potential of the entrants and is based on the experiences, organisational skills and personal achievements both on the application form and at interview.

The competition is funded by Rotary International and is a major event on the Rotary calendar.
